                     Dear Dr Bill,

With only hours remaining in thisMoney Bomb, we are just $209,000 short of our goal of raising $2 million by midnight.

There arejust two weeks remaining until Super Tuesday, where over 400 delegates will be awarded, and my campaign needs every resource available to get out thevote in the ten states that head to the polls on March 6.

My staff has crunched the numbers, andI need 3 liberty activists in Vista to                     chip in $25 - or more if you can afford it - in order to reach $2 million by midnight.

If you have already contributed to this Money Bomb, thank you. But I ask that you dig deep                      one last time and                     donate whatever you canafford to help my campaign finish strong on Super Tuesday.

If you have not yetcontributed,                      please do soright away.  This is your best opportunity to help my campaign implement                      the voter contact programs that willallow me to acquire delegates on March 6.

This race is anybody's ball game.

Approximately 30 states and territories awarddelegates that are not bound to any candidate.

That's why my campaign has a strong chance ofwinning the majority of delegates that will be eventually awarded from Iowa, Colorado, Minnesota, and Maine.

And as you know, it’s the delegates who will select the Republican nominee for President.

It's crucial my campaign be able to fund the hard-hitting TV ads, direct mail, email, phone banking and door-to-door voter contactprograms that had propelled me to strong finishes in Iowa, New Hampshire, Minnesota and Maine.

So please, click here to makeyour most generous contribution to this Money Bomb to help my campaign finish strong on Super Tuesday and acquire the delegates necessary to win theRepublican nomination!

                     For Liberty,

                     Ron Paul

P.S.  Super Tuesday is fast approaching, and mycampaign needs every resource possible to compete for the over 400 delegates at stake on March 6.

Click here to make your                     most generous contribution so my campaign can run our hard-hitting TV                      ads, direct mail, email, phone banking, anddoor-to-door voter contact program in the ten                      Super Tuesday states as we work to acquire the delegates necessary to win theRepublican nomination!

When the economy is in the doldrums, those on the lowest rung of the economic ladder suffer the most. Their solution is not a promise of government programs to train a small subset of them or employ an even smaller subset in temporary make-work jobs. Those “solutions” provide momentary relief only to a fraction of the poor who participate in the government programs, only as dictated by government planners, and only for so long as the federal funds keep flowing. The solution, rather, is an immediate alteration in the relationship between government and the private sector to permit the private sector to grow freely, without federal direction, constraints, or tax burdens and draw down the ranks of the unemployed to meet the demands of the market. The means to achieve that immediate alteration are to reduce substantially the size and scope of the federal government, cut taxes on business, and eliminate the personal income tax.

President Obama is possessed of that same unfounded confidence which feeds the minds of all intoxicated with elective office who subscribe to the view that government planning can achieve for the market greater results than the market can achieve for itself. Rather than give back to the productive the money the federal government takes from them so that they may expend their resources as they think fit and employ people with the skill sets they need, the President proposes to raise taxes by over $1 trillion and create a series of new federal initiatives (transportation infrastructure, education, school modernization, new teacher hires, and a whopping $8 billion federal job training program), all designed to placate temporarily a subset of those he must convince to re-elect him (including, for example, the unemployed, parents struggling with student loans, and public employees fearing or experiencing job cuts). With the varnish removed, Obama’s government planning initiatives are drawn from the same moribund concept that proved Joseph Stalin, Mao Zedong, and Pol Pot utter failures. One of the most commonly confirmed historical verities is that government planned economies fail and fail miserably. Government cannot predict the outcome of ever fluctuating demand for goods, services, or labor. While Obama intends to spend billions on job training initiatives, neither government nor academia can predict the precise skill sets that industry will need next year, let alone over the next decade. Rather, industry itself, if freed from government constraints and heavy tax burdens, can finance its own education initiatives geared precisely to satisfy each company’s immediate needs.

From Obama’s rhetoric, one would think that there is a dislocation between industry and education when, in fact, any such effects are temporary and market driven. If companies pay enough for qualified talent, students will acquire the education necessary to satisfy that demand. If there is a shortage of certain skilled laborers, employers will pay more to get them, and those entering school will take the courses needed to reap the financial benefits. Some large companies would rather have the government subsidize the cost of labor and, so, Obama’s $8 billion fund will be but another political gambit indicative of the crony capitalism he so frequently embraces.

Portraying himself as the representative of the downtrodden, President Obama’s budget is, in fact, a kiss of death for the poor. It offers them no solution to poverty. Instead, it offers them a deceptive token, a false promise from that somehow the billions he will pump into government programs will translate into a meaningful change in the state of poverty in America. His is a promise of a better day that is very long on promise and very short on the kind of fundamental reform in the relationship between government and the private sector necessary to permit private sector growth and job creation. What the poor need is not a pledge of a subsidy for attendance at a community college (read a few books while you starve) or a temporary state funded construction job (earn enough to survive the summer). What the poor need is precisely the same as what all Americans need: a vibrant private sector in which opportunity abounds and the chance to prove oneself exists at every turn. That comes only if a government that maintains debt in excess of the gross domestic product shrinks to the limits of its tax revenues and removes every obstacle to free enterprise that government has put in the way—from regulation to taxation.

Government is a parasite. It cannot create wealth nor determine how wealth is to be created by the productive. The productive must be set free. They will then do what they have done historically and so well, satisfy demand, build empires, and produce an upwardly mobile economy in which the poor, and indeed all of us, have opportunities to succeed. We reached record low levels of unemployment a decade ago not because of government programs but because of a vibrant private sector, infused with brilliant contributions from the likes of Bill Gates and Steve Jobs.

The President’s budget proposal, Dead On Arrival in the Republican House and one that is in fact his 2012 campaign platform, calls on government to reduce the present $1.33 trillion dollar deficit by a paltry $400 billion in each of the next ten years, bringing present spending to an unacceptably high deficit of $901 billion by 2013 and failing to achieve a balanced budget at any point in the foreseeable future.

At a time when regulatory and tax relief for all, the rich and the poor, is essential to jump start the economy by leaving in private hands the power to decide for oneself how to invest, spend, and produce, the President wants to draw even more private wealth into the government by ending the Bush era tax cuts, eliminating tax deductions for the wealthy, requiring those who earn a million dollars or more to pay 30 percent of their income in taxes, imposing $61 billion in new taxes on banks, and ending tax breaks for oil, gas, and coal companies (thereby increasing taxes on those industries by $41 billion annually).

Private concentrations of wealth are essential for job creation, for creating self-sustaining employment. Vast stores of money, whether invested or expended, create opportunities for employment that satisfies market demand. By contrast, government programs to train, make work, or publicly employ are dead end investments. They require a draw on private wealth to pay for them and they cannot be continued without continuous additional draws on private wealth in future. In short, they add to the debt, reduce capital available for private growth, and increase public dependence on government.

When we take into account the federal financial obligations coming from the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act in 2014 and beyond, the President’s planned spending overwhelms the paltry $400 billion in annual cost reductions his plan offers. Consequently, he is digging the debt hole much much deeper, inviting a collapse of the economy and of the government itself.

The bankrupt ideas of the President are a microcosm of the actual bankruptcy implementation of them would bring to the United States. His re-election depends on an assumption that the American people are too ignorant to comprehend the sleight of hand inherent in his proposals or the essential need for substantial reductions in federal spending. The American people, however, are increasingly cognizant of the fact that this President has no real solutions to the problems befalling the country. They increasingly recognize soberly that the debt crisis is dire and promises to bring down this great nation in less than a decade. Whatever inflated credit that may mistakenly be given to President Obama (rather than to Seal Team Six) for Obama’s decision to allow U.S. special forces to take out Osama bin Laden is trifling in comparison to the monumental blame he will richly deserve if his irresponsible fiscal policies are adopted and bring about the destruction of the United States economy and, indeed, the government itself.

John Hinderaker encapsulates an assumption which has started to take hold among many of Mitt Romney’s backers: that the fault for what appears to be an increasingly likely 2012 election loss lies with conservatives for making this a real primary. Speaking of the see-saw of not-Romney candidates, he writes:

The same pattern has been repeated more than once during the current, discouraging presidential nominating process. If the GOP loses this year’s presidential contest, the party will have no one to blame but its own activists.

I'm hearing this meme repeated by many increasingly dejected Romney supporters around Washington, D.C. See, if people had just gotten in line when we told them to, the theory goes, things would be looking up. But this is revisionist history, and this is a meme that deserves to die.

Mitt Romney

It is ludicrous to claim that the fault lies among conservatives for Romney's precipitous drop among independents, which he’s endured over the past month (in some polls, it's been a negative swing of 20 points), the primary reason he now lags Obama in most measures. Consider: since Romney ground Newt Gingrich into pulp in Florida with his 65-1 ad ratio three weeks ago, there has been not one debate, not one major piece of scandal or breaking news, not even one major round of negative ads against Romney. There has only been a series of gaffes on Romney's part (most notably his line about not caring about the very poor) and a series of numbers which show mild economic improvement.

In reality, it’s those who demanded conservatives get in line ages in advance who made a fundamental mistake in how they approached this election. By demanding an ideological shift from a more populist, more fiscally conservative base they no longer direct or control, Romney’s most prominent backers failed to learn any of the right lessons from what led to the 2009-2010 cycles. They failed to realize that the base expected more from a candidate, from a leader, than the politics and policy of the past. This problem worsened when their candidate put forward a meandering, maintenance-based agenda which inspires no one, not even his backers. As Jim Pethokoukis put it recently:

Mitt Romney wants to be the next president of a country in need of serious and sweeping economic reform. And here are the first two points in his 59-point economic plan:

1. Maintain current tax rates on personal income
2. Maintain current tax rates on interest, dividends, and capital gains

Now imagine private-equity boss Romney back at Bain Capital sitting down to read his team’s 59-point turnaround plan for some troubled widget maker. And imagine if the first two action items started with the phrase “Maintain current ….” Romney probably wouldn’t bother reading any further before tossing the report in the trash, calling a meeting, and cracking heads. Heck, if Private Equity Romney were called in to turn around Romney Campaign Inc., axing CEO Romney might be the first move on his to-do list—especially after looking at last night’s numbers from Colorado, Minnesota, and Missouri.

Even worse than this unimpressive agenda is a failing of the candidate: that Romney has proven incapable of selling himself to the American people. In 2008, Romney failed in a horserace against McCain, Huckabee, Giuliani and Thompson. (Read Dan McLaughlin for reasons why.) Having the only real machine in the 2012 cycle and as an experienced candidate, he absolutely should have been able to stand on his own right as soon as this race came down to the far more flawed and less politically capable efforts of Santorum, Gingrich, and Paul. By all rights, he should be running circles around them all.

Romney has every advantage in money, endorsements, organization, name ID, looks, technology, volunteers, mail, data, and infrastructure. What's more, Romney's staff is fastidious and detail oriented. A recent news story focused on the effort his advance team puts into getting the lighting right for their candidate to make for the best newspaper photos the next day. Rick Santorum, for Pete's sake, doesn't even have an advance staff.

The reason Romney hasn’t ended this thing in a walk is that he hasn’t successfully sold himself to the base or the country. He has simply not delivered as a salesman of his ideas or himself. For someone who's been compared time and again to a used BMW salesman, he is stuck in the same pandering rut that prevented him from closing the deal last time around.

Instead of counting on an agenda or an ability to personally inspire, the argument from his supporters has over and over again hinged on Romney’s purported electability. This is one of the weakest arguments to make in a primary, as Romney’s funders have acknowledged recently (because when you win, it’s expected; but when you lose, instead of a speedbump, it strikes at the core of the case you’re making). As the cracks developed in Romney's armor, his prominent backers went from denial of their existence to an argument that they don't matter to increasingly loud demands that Obama's badness as a president will bring everyone together, so there's nothing to worry about.

Here's the problem: that last argument can be used by every candidate in the GOP field - it's not specific to Romney at all. And I personally doubt that it's true.

Again and again, Romney's stump speech turns to how much he loves America the Beautiful, reciting the phrases and talking about the country. It may be sincere, even if it seems bland and rote. But here's the point: even if it's real, the conservative voting base wants and expects more from a candidate than policies of maintenance and mawkish patriotism.

Everything we've seen happen since the election of Barack Obama should've taught Romney and his supporters that lesson. But they decided to play it safe, counting on a terrible economy to bolster their chances. And now, the economy appears to be making slight but steady improvement, and his route to the nomination looks to be an extended trench war paired with an overwhelming air attack – two things designed to chew even further at his ability to pivot back to a general election strategy.

The competitive and lengthy primary is not the reason for Romney’s failure – it’s just revealed the things about him that make him fail. There are three ways Romney supporters could've avoided this circumstance. They could have run a different campaign. They could have run on a different agenda. Or they could have run a different candidate.

Mitt Romney’s CPAC Speech: His Claims vs. the Truth

by Amy Contrada

“People say that Mitt Romney is a flip-flopper. I think that’s very unjust. I think he’s been a very consistent politician. He consistently works both sides of the street on the same issue. He is consistently cynical and expedient and self-serving.” C. J. Doyle, President of Catholic Action League of Massachusetts, quoted in LifeSite News.

To hear Mitt Romney at CPAC, one would think you were hearing from a true small-government social conservative, akin to Ronald Reagan. Let’s set that record straight.

Following is the real record on:

  • His unconstitutional implementation of “gay marriage”
  • His failure to check judicial activism while simultaneously preaching against it
  • His weak argument for traditional marriage
  • His weak leadership in Massachusetts during the “gay marriage” crisis
  • His his record on abortion
  • His flip-flops on “emergency contraception” (morning-after pill) and Catholic Hospitals
  • RomneyCare, abortions, and mandated contraception coverage
  • His phony abstinence program in the schools
  • His phony defense of Catholic Charities in the homosexual adoptions scandal

Mitt Romney’s speech at CPAC (Conservative Political Action Conference, Feb. 10, 2012) was at best full of half-truths and misrepresentations. What a mistake he made, inviting scrutiny of his record on constitutional and social issues as Governor of Massachusetts.

Here’s what he said on his handling of these issues:

“During my tenure, our conservative values also came under attack. Less than a year after I took office, the state’s supreme court inexplicably found a right to same-sex marriage in our constitution. I pushed for a stay of the decision, fought for a marriage amendment to our constitution, and successfully prohibited out-of-state couples from coming to our state to get married and then go home. On my watch, we fought hard and prevented Massachusetts from becoming the Las Vegas of gay marriage. When I am President, I will preserve the Defense of Marriage Act and I will fight for a federal amendment defining marriage as a relationship between one man and one woman. During my time in office, I stood up to those who wanted to call into question the very definition of life. I vetoed a bill that would have opened the door to cloning and embryo farming. I vetoed a bill that would have allowed young girls to gain access to abortion-inducing drugs. I fought for abstinence education in our public schools. And I defended the Catholic Church’s right to serve their community in ways that were consistent with their conscience through adoption programs that placed children in a home with a mom and a dad.”

ROMNEY CLAIMED: “The state’s supreme court inexplicably found a right to same-sex marriage in our constitution.”

The TRUTH: The Court did so find, but Governor Romney followed their lead and unconstitutionally implemented “gay marriage” without legislative authorization. He treated the “inexplicable” opinion as law.

Romney is right: The November 2003 finding was “inexplicable” because a “right to same-sex marriage” is not in the Constitution. The four judges simply invented it. So why did Governor Romney give it any credence? Why did he not just ignore this act of judicial overreach, rather than just complain later about “activist judges”?

It was also “inexplicable” because the Court had no authority to act on marriage (an area the state Constitution reserves to the Governor and Legislature), or overturn the existing man-woman marriage law (which even the Court said it was not doing). The Legislature never changed the law as the Court suggestedit do (since it had no power to order another branch to act). The Massachusetts Constitution states clearly that only the Legislature can make or overturn a law.

Governor Romney had no order (even an illegitimate one) from the Court, and no authorization from the Legislature, to enact “gay marriage” through his executive departments. Yet he did just that in early 2004 – to the shock of many.

Romney never once discussed the Constitution’s clear separation of powers during the crisis. But he repeatedly called the Court ruling “law” that he had to obey. That is “inexplicable”! Why did he enforce this illegitimate ruling the Court could not have enforced on its own?

Romney knew when running for Governor in 2002 that the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court would soon be issuing a pro-gay-marriage ruling. What did he have to say on the issue as a candidate? Plenty – at a meeting in a gay bar with the homosexual Log Cabin Republicans.

Governor Romney “… promised to obey the courts’ [sic] ultimate ruling and not champion a fight on either side of the issue. “I’ll keep my head low,” he said, making a bobbing motion with his head like a boxer, one participant recalled…. [Romney] promised the Log Cabin members that he would not champion a fight against same-sex marriage…. And, in the aftermath of the Massachusetts court decision, Mr. Romney, though aligning himself with the supporters of a constitutional amendment, did order town clerks to begin issuing marriage licenses to same-sex couples. Some members of Log Cabin Republicans say that in doing so, he ultimately fulfilled his promise to them despite his own moral objections. New York Times, September 8, 2007

Also just previous to his election, he opposed the only realistic chance Massachusetts had to pass a marriage amendment, because its wording would have outlawed civil unions (equivalent to marriage in all but name). He called the proposed amendment “too extreme,” though his wife, son and daughter-in-law had signed it. This sheds light on his support of the current proposed federal marriage amendment he says he supports. It would not be “too extreme” for Romney, because it would likely not ban civil unions.

What happened when the Massachusetts Court opinion was announced on November 18, 2003? He delivered this brief, tepid statement which failed to make any argument for either constitutional government or traditional marriage:

“I disagree with the Supreme Judicial Court. Marriage is an institution between a man and a woman. I will support an amendment to the Massachusetts Constitution to make that expressly clear. Of course, we must provide basic civil rights and appropriate benefits to nontraditional couples, but marriage is a special institution that should be reserved for a man and a woman.” –Press Release from Governor’s Office Nov. 18, 2003

(See the video of his statement here.)

Romney’s statement calls for an amendment – though he had opposed one the previous year – but also for protecting gay rights! (His current campaign website distorts the record by omission, posting only the first part of his statement, leaving off the gay rights clause.)

He never expanded on the reasons for traditional marriage other than noting its long history and every child’s need for a mother and a father. (That is, except when the “parents” are “gay,” and then he thinks their adoptive “rights” should be acknowledged.) How can he be called a champion for marriage?

ROMNEY CLAIMED: “I pushed for a stay of the decision.”

The TRUTH: He wrongly accepted the Court as the ultimate authority, instead of doing his duty to act as a check on the Court. He could have pushed even harder for a stay, but in any case it was hopeless given the Court’s demonstrated bias.

This is a telling comment. Romney was accepting the “decision” – the Court’s deciphering of a “penumbra” in the Constitution – as legitimate. This reveals his acquiescence to the Court, recognizing it as the supreme arbiter of the law with final authority over the other two branches, no matter how absurd their opinion. But that directly contradicts the Massachusetts Constitution’s separation of powers clauses (written by John Adams).

The server would smile and say, "Yes, you can eat anything you like."

Never did we expect the type of emotional reactions we got from our food-sensitive guests. It really showed us the tremendous need that exists for these folks. There's so much food and yet so little that this group can eat, how sad.

After the meal people would say - "What delicious food! Please teach a cooking class."

And when they left our establishment, "I feel so satisfied, but not stuffed! I have energy, unlike how I feel at a normal restaurant."

  • Do you have or know anyone who has celiac disease (gluten-intolerance) or is diabetic, or, as in many unfortunate cases, both?

  • Do you know anyone who has allergies or illness of any kind?

  • What about all three?

Every single recipe in this book covers all three issues at the same time and are still incredibly yummy, satisfying, and fulfilling. None of the recipes use corn, soy - except for one special, safe, non-GMO, very easy-to-digest liquid form - or even rice (high-glycemic), or flour of any kind, except seed or nut flours. Delicious dairy-free alternatives are also given. Very few allergens are used, and alternatives given for most known allergens, including certain recipes that give alternatives to tree nuts.

These Recipes are More Alkaline

It's been proven that people are much healthier eating a more alkaline diet. That means a lot more fruits and veggies along with legumes and certain nuts and seeds, especially sprouted nuts and seeds which you will learn how to do in this book.

The recipes in this ebook have been helpful for people with everything from celiac disease and diabetes to IBS (irritable bowel syndrome). Also, every recipe in this book contains "healing" food of some type. This is according to the many books written by doctors who are experts in the field of nutrition.

Learn the Secret of People Who Get Off Insulin!

Eating the way this book suggests: lots of veggies hidden in wonderful flavors, and very low-glycemic, combined with steady, regular exercise, has helped some people get off insulin and lead healthier, more energetic lives. Articles abound about people who have eaten lots of vegetables and fruits, fiber and protein and exercised several times a week and have gotten off insulin.

Our entire restaurant was geared to people with food and environmental sensitivities of all kinds, yet we didn't advertise the fact on our signage. So locals came in and thought we were just a fine gourmet restaurant. Who wouldn't? our menu offered only the freshest, organic, foods that were rich, flavorful, and delicious. Desserts were always a must at The Golden Chalice, they were just hard to resist.

    Feel Great
Stay Healthy, Young, Slim and Strong for Life!

People who eat this way often find they are actually reversing the way they look and feel. Also, "the recipes in this book are easier to digest" according to Scott Myron Cheshaek, L.Ac, because of the combination of ingredients, and preparation style.

These recipes came about due to Debbie's own personal health challenges. "I had something like chronic fatigue; just no energy, so my doctor told me I had to stop eating sugar or any sweetener at all for a whole year!" Debbie says. "I could eat non-nutritive sweetener, but I liked using natural sweeteners, like Stevia. Unfortunately, Stevia has an aftertaste. So I had to find a way to get things to taste like I was being bad and eating sweets, which I truly loved!

"When I was young, my mother was on Weight Watchers® and I would do everything I could to make her happy (yes, I had a desperate need for her approval) But I also loved cooking for special diets even back then. Now I had to do it for myself! So I invented a blend of Stevia and something else, which you'll learn in my book, that made it taste wonderful, just like sugar! I came up with some really fun recipes and made it through the year, adjusting my blood-sugar to safe levels.

"Then it got worse! I found out I could eat very few grains, and not much, if any. So I went back to the kitchen and cooked up some new recipes. I'm happier, healthier, and have more energy than ever before after finally accepting that I must be cautious about my food intake. I still eat as much as I want, and snack whenever I want. I can't stand restaurant food now, after my own cooking and my own restaurant, because it was so delicious, satisfying, fresh and natural. It felt so good in my body and I was even healthier than ever eating there every day.

Learn to Easily Convert Your Favorite Recipes to Your Necessary Standards! No Longer Be a Slave to Your Illness!

Enjoy nearly any recipe you have by following a few simple guidelines to substitute sugar and flour in almost any recipe.

"My staff exclaimed that they were getting over their own fatigue and illness of various kinds, like IBS. Many people are finding that gluten and sugar cause many illnesses and when removed from the diet, create stunning health. I want to help others who have been in situations like mine. "

Make carrot cake that no one will realize has no grain flour! (just one tablespoon amaranth flour, which is really not a grain, but a seed) And an exotic dairy-free frosting that is also sugar-free but tastes even better than cream-cheese!

The amazing, miraculous thing is that it tastes not only as good as, but better than the "normal" carrot cake you can get anywhere or make from a typical recipe. The same is true of every single recipe in the book, refined by time and tasting for over thirty years.

What is the secret to delicious, simple food?

Debbie shares all of these secrets with you. She learned from many chefs over the years and herself was a chef at the Peppermill Soup Kitchen in Encinitas, California, as well as executive chef for her own restaurant, using her own recipes exclusively. They sell for $500 per recipe for commercial use.

"Can you believe I've gone from a cookie-monster to a vegetable addict? I have to have my vegetables! The flavor secrets I use make it so enjoyable to eat every meal. I want you to experience the same thing." Debbie Johnson, author of Fun with GF/LF Food.

Having healthy cells is not a passive process.
ACTIVE, regular tuning-up of our cells is not only feasible, but also necessary to slow aging and reduce the risk of cell dysfunction.

Science teaches us EVERYTHING is Energy.
Energy is always Dynamic and has a frequency and it changes by the minute or second.
ALL energy is electromagnetic in nature.

All atoms, Chemicals and cells produce Electromagnetic fields.
Every organ in the body produces its own signature Bio-Electromagnetic field.

Science has proven that our bodies actually project their own Magnetic Fields and that all 70 Trillion cells in the
    body communicate via Electromagnetic frequencies.

NOTHING happens in the body without an Electromagnetic exchange.

Living in the Age of the

    Ram and the Goat

The Coming War Between Iran and the

United States as foretold in the book of

Shortly after writing my first book, The Fourth Day: Why the Bible is Historically

Accurate, I wanted to write a book on prophecy. I noticed in my study of the

Old Testament that the book of Daniel Chapter 8 deserved a second look.

Suppose Daniel’s vison of the Ram and the Goat isn’t a description of Alexander

the Great’s military campaign against Persia. What if it is describing a chain of

events that have not occurred yet? After I completed the second chapter of

this book I began to write several articles about the book on

Here is an excerpt of one of the articles titled Prophecy-The Coming War

Between the United States and Iran:

“Theologians believe the vision of the goat and the ram describes the rise of

Alexander the Great and the defeat of the Persian Empire at his hands. What if

Daniel’s vision isn’t about Alexander the Great but rather about a Greek leader

that has not come to power yet? What it we are living in the age of the ram and

the goat? Let’s look at this vision with a new perspective, as if it hasn’t

    happened yet.

The first part of Daniel’s vision describes a ram with two horns, each horn

representing a different nation. The ram was seen at the Ulai River, the modern

day Karun River in Iran. The two horns are described in verse twenty (of Daniel

Chapter eight), they are the kings of Media and Persia, so in modern day terms

who are these two countries? Persia is easy, that is Iran. Who is Media? They are

a group of people that claim to be a nation yet have no land of their own. They

live in Turkey, Iraq and Iran and have been persecuted in all three of these

nations. They are the people of Kurdistan, the Kurds. Therefore the ram is an

alliance of Iran and the Kurds.

So is the ram in place today? Not quite. Ahmadinejad, the present leader of

Iran as of this writing, is no friend to the Kurds living in Iran. The situation will have

to change on the Iranian political scene to be considered allies of Iran.

However, change may be on the horizon. There are signs of vast discontent in

Iran, mostly associated with Ahmadinejad’s mishandling of Iran’s economy and

the yearning of Iran’s people for political freedom. A democratic movement is

gaining momentum in Iran and one of the chief political forces behind that

movement is the Kurds. Therefore I believe the ram will not be in place until

political upheaval dislodges Ahmadinejad from power and Iran adopts

democracy as it new form of government.”

If you have been keeping up with current events in Iran, then you are aware that

in June of 2009 the people of Iran demonstrated in the streets of Iran regarded

the re-election of Ahmadinejad. This was an election that the demonstrators

believed (and much of the world as well) was a rigged contest. These protesters

are now known as “the green movement” and are responsible for the political

turmoil that Ahmadinejad continues to battle today. What you may find

fascinating about the article I wrote is that I didn’t write this article after the

election. In fact I had written this article on July 20th, 2008 and this article was

based on a chapter I had written in 2007. (As of the date of this writing this

article is still posted at I had posted this article on 11 months before this election!

I am more than a little nervous after realizing how close my novel interpretation

of Daniel chapter 8 and the recent political upheaval in Iran have paralleled.

This realization has convinced me that there is a finite period of time let for us to

prepare for the coming of Christ. I am convinced that we are living during the

age of the fulfillment of Daniel’s vision of the ram and the goat.

“In the third year of the reign of king Belshazzar a vision appeared unto me, even

unto me Daniel, after that which appeared unto me at the first.

And I saw in a vision: and it came to pass, when I saw, that I was at Shushan in

the palace, which is in the province of Elam; and I saw in a vision, and I was by

the river of Ulai. Then I lifted up mine eyes, and saw, and, behold, there stood

before the river a ram which had two horns: and the two horns were high: but

one was higher than the other, and the higher came up last. I saw the ram

pushing westward, and northward, and southward; so that no beasts might

stand before him, neither was there any that could deliver out of his hand; but

he did according to his will, and became great.

And as I was considering, behold, a he goat came from the west on the face of

the whole earth, and touched not the ground: and the goat had a notable

horn between his eyes. And he came to the ram that had two horns, which I

had seen standing before the river, and ran unto him in the fury of his power.

And I saw him come close unto the ram, and he was moved with choler against

him, and smote the ram, and brake his two horns: and there was no power in the

ram to stand before him, but he cast him down to the ground, and stamped

upon him: and there was none that could deliver the ram out of his hand.

Therefore the he goat waxed very great: and when he was strong, the great

horn was broken; and for it came up four notable ones toward the four winds of

    (Daniel 8:1-8).

Conservative scholars have interpreted the above passage as a description of

historical events that occurred when Alexander the Great invaded the Persian

Empire. The “ram” is symbolic of the Persian Empire and the two horns are

symbolic of the two kingdoms, the Medes and the Persians that form the Persian

Empire. The “rough goat” represents the Greek Empire. How did the scholars

make this symbolic comparison? They didn’t. The angel (Gabriel) from Daniel’s

vision linked these animals with their corresponding world power:

“The ram which thou sawest having two horns are the kings of Media and Persia.

And the rough goat is the king of Grecia: and the great horn that is between his

eyes is the first king.” (Daniel 8:20-21)

I believe that these scholars have made an error in the timeframe when this

vision of Daniel’s was to be fulfilled. This vision does not describe the events of

the life of Alexander the Great but rather events that are to occur prior to the

end times, events that may occur during our lifetime. Consider the details of the

    following passage.

“And I heard a man’s voice between the banks of the Ulai, which called, and

said, Gabriel, make this man to understand the vision. So he came near where I

stood: and when he came, I was afraid, and fell upon my face: but he said unto

me, Understand, O son of man: for at the time of the end shall be the vision.”

    (Daniel 8:16-17)

It is clear from the phrase “at the time of the end” these events happen during

the end times, the timeframe when the events of the book of Revelations begin

to transpire and for reasons that I will make apparent later I believe this vision of

the Ram and the Goat describes events that mark of the beginning of the end

times. So let’s re-examine this great vision of Daniel’s in light of the events of our

    present age.

The Ram as Seen in the 21st Century

Let’s take a close look at the events of the vision of the Ram and the Goat, verse

    by verse.

“In the third year of the reign of the king Belshazzar a vision appeared unto me,

even unto me Daniel, after that which appeared unto me at the first.” (Daniel

Daniel indicates in this verse that this vision occurred during the reign of

Belshazzar, the third Babylonian king mentioned in the Bible after

Nebuchadnezzar and Evil-Merodach, and this vision occurred after the vision

that is described in Daniel chapter 7.

“And I saw in a vision; and it came to pass, when I saw, that I was at Shushan in

the palace, which is in the province of Elam; and I saw in a vision, and I was by

the river of Ulai.” (Daniel 8:2)

Daniel is re-located during his vision from Babylon where king Belshazzar had his

capital to Shushan, the capital of the Persian Empire (Elam was part of the

Persian Empire) which was led by Cyrus the Great at that time. The Persian

Empire is the same geographical area as modern day Iran. The river of Ulai is the

present day Karun River in Iran and it is located very near the Iraq/Iran border.

The Karun River is historically and militarily significant because it is the place

where the militarily weaker Iranians were able to stand against Saddam Hussein’s

    forces during the Iraq-Iran War.

“Then I lifted up mine eyes, and saw, and, behold, there stood before the river a

ram which had two horns: and the two horns were high: but one was higher than

the other, and the higher came up last.” (Daniel 8:3)

The two horns of the ram represent the modern day descendants of the empires

of Persia and Media. How do we know this? Again, the angel Gabriel tells us

(Daniel 8:20) : “The ram which thou sawest having two horns are the kings of

Media and Persia.” Persia we know represents the nation of Iran, but what

nation represents Media? The only present day ethnic group that claims to be

descendants of the nation of Media is the Kurds, the people of Kurdistan. What is

ironic about Kurdistan is that presently, no one considers Kurdistan as a military

threat because of its unique circumstances as a nation. Kurdistan has 25 million

people yet it is a country with no official borders. The Kurdistan people live as the

minority people in several different countries in an unofficial area that includes

western Iran, northern Iraq, northern Syria and eastern Turkey. The only

autonomous government recognized is the federal entity that the Kurds control

in Iraq. Historically the Kurds have been persecuted in whatever country they

inhabited, Iraq and Turkey being the worst offenders. Yet according to this verse

they will rise as a nation to be reckoned with. Obviously in the context of

modern day events Iran is the horn that rises first according to this verse, but

Kurdistan will be the powerful nation that rises last. Note that this verse states the

second horn will rise last and not second or next. This is an important distinction

as well as an important clue. I believe that this indicates that the “little horn” of

the Antichrist that will rise in Daniel 8:9 is the last nation that will rise in the end

times, Kurdistan. One day Kurdistan will have its own borders, its own

government and will be a world power.

How close is the ram to being unified? I wrote an article on

entitled “Prophecy-The Coming War Between the United States and Iran” in July

2008 about the unification of the Kurds with Iran’s political system. I described in

the article that the Kurds are being oppressed in Iran like much of its other

citizens and has been a major political force in the grassroots democracy

movement in Iran. The only way you can consider the Kurds and Iran to be

unified is if there is there is a dramatic change in the Iranian political system and

here is how I described that change: “A democratic movement is gaining

momentum in Iran and the chief political force behind the movement is the

Kurds. Therefore I believe the ram will not be in place until political upheaval

dislodges Ahmadinejad from power and Iran adopts democracy as its new form

of government.” I wrote this about 11 months prior to the controversial election

results that occurred in Iran in June 2009, which initiated the “green” movement

(democracy movement) in Iran. I do not believe that Iran will transform into a

true democracy. It can only be considered a union of the hardliners in Iran and

the democratic movement of the Kurds if the government is a compromise of an

Islamic theocratic dictatorship that has given in to the demands of the

democratic movement in order to retain its political power. A major plank of the

democratic movement is to stop the push for nuclear weapons that is currently

being advocated for in Iran and are not really advocates for any military

campaign. It will be the hardliners and their aspirations to make Iran a great

nation that will cause the ram to control the Persian Gulf nations as we will see

“I saw the ram pushing westward, and northward, and southward; so that no

beasts might stand before him, neither was there any that could deliver out of his

hand; but he did according to his will, and became great.” (Daniel 8:4)

According to this verse, the ram, the nations of Iran and Kurdistan, will first push

westward then it will push northward and then southward.

The word “push” in this verse literally means to “gore” as in the goring caused by

a horned animal. Symbolically it is used in other places in the Bible to indicate

the expansion of a nation. Therefore according to this verse Iran will expand

westward, northward and southward. What countries might be conquered by

Iran and Kurdistan if this is true? It is interesting to note that this verse indicates

that Iran will invade to the west, then the north and finally to the south. I think this

pattern of conquest reveals Iran’s future objectives. Since Iraq is Iran’s largest

military opponent in the region and it is located to the west of Iran it only makes

sense that Iran would conquer Iraq first thus invading westward. Once Iran has

conquered Iraq it would invade Turkey (northward) and Saudi Arabia

(southward) thus will have conquered the most powerful nations in the Persian

Gulf area. An additional possibility is that it could also invade the Caspian Sea

region since it is north of Iraq.

    Why Invade the Caspian Sea?

When the Soviet Union ceased to exist and broke up into smaller countries in the

early 1990’s the United States and Europe saw an opportunity to increase the

security of the worldwide oil supply. There was evidence that the Caspian Sea

had vast potential as a new source of petroleum but had not been developed

because the Soviet Union did not have the resources to develop the

infrastructure necessary to drill and transport the oil. When the Soviet Union was

still in power the only nations on the coast of the Caspian Sea were the Soviet

Union and Iran but after the Soviet Union’s fall from power new smaller nations

appeared on the coast of the Caspian Sea from the former Soviet Union:

Turkmenistan, Armenia, Georgia, Azerbaijan. The United States and Europe

began to invest heavily in these new countries to develop the petroleum

resources in Caspian Sea with the hope that they would be friendlier than the

Soviet Union or Iran. Presently the Caspian Sea only accounts for 3% of the

world’s oil supply but it has been speculated it may have as much as 25% of the

world’s oil supply. The United States and Europe have also helped to finance the

BTC (Baku-Tblisi-Ceyhan) pipeline that runs through Azerbaijan, Georgia and

Turkey on the west side of the Caspian Sea near Iraq that transports oil to the

Mediterranean Sea. These activities by the United States and Europe have not

gone unnoticed by Russia and Iran who consider the Caspian Sea as “their

backyard”. Rumors abound that the Russians have tried unsuccessfully to

sabotage the BTC pipeline. If Iran controlled this pipeline it could achieve its

goal of removing the influence of the United States and Europe from the

Caspian Sea but also drastically increase the worldwide price of petroleum; a

move that would benefit their national economy. They could easily control the

pipeline by successfully invading Turkey. Iran then would have complete control

of over two-thirds of the world’s oil resources since it would control the Caspian

Sea and the Persian Gulf. As it written in this verse Iran would indeed be “great”.

Why Would Iran Invade Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Iraq?

The possibility that Iran could invade Turkey and Saudi Arabia is certainly

disturbing but how likely is this to happen? What motivation would Iran have to

do this? This military action would be consistent with Iran’s goals for the Muslim

world. Iran’s objective among the Muslims is to be the leader of the Muslim world

and convert the Muslim world to the Shia sect. Turkey and Saudi Arabia are

mostly Sunni Muslims, so Turkey and Saudi Arabia can be considered Iran’s

adversaries in the Muslim religion. If Iran controls Turkey and Saudi Arabia they

could force the two largest Sunni countries in the Persian Gulf (Turkiey and Saudi

Arabia) to convert to the Shia sect. This would allow Iran to be the leader of the

Shia Muslim religion, the only brand of the Muslim religion in the Persian Gulf.

Can Iran defeat Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Iraq militarily? is

a very useful website that can be used to help answer this question. This website

collects information about the different aspects of individual nations to rank

them in order of their military strength. According to the website Iran should

certainly be able to handle Iraq or Saudi Arabia in a military conflict since Iran is

ranked # 18 while Iraq is ranked #37 and Saudi Arabia is ranked #24. When you

look at the details of these countries military the amount of military hardware is

comparable between each of them but what would appear to be the big

difference is the size of Iran’s manpower; Iran has nine times more active military

personnel and reserves than either Saudi Arabia or Iraq. Invading Turkey

    successfully will be more difficult.

According to the website Turkey is ranked #10 while Iran is ranked #18. The

active military and reserves are essentially equivalent for the two nations. When

you analyze both countries military hardware Turkey is much more dominant in

their air based weapons (1,199 for Turkey and 84 for Iran). This is primarily due to

the fact that Turkey has its own F-16 factory that it uses to manufacture jet

fighters for itself and NATO. What may set Iran apart is its paramilitary force. Iran

claims to have a paramilitary force of over 12 million, the largest paramilitary

force in the world. If Iran does use this 12 million soldier paramilitary as its major

invading force it does explain the biblical description of the movement of its

invasion. As I mentioned previously Iran goes West (to Iraq) then North (to Turkey)

and then south (to Saudi Arabia). Since Iran doesn’t have the naval resources to

move a 12 million man group across the Persian Gulf this force will have to walk

to Saudi Arabia. This means they will have to go west into Iraq first then walk

south (around the Persian Gulf) to get to Saudi Arabia. Iran used this paramilitary

group effectively during the Iran/Iraq war by using them to clear minefields so

that their “regular” forces could march unimpeded into Iraq. Military analysts in

the United States have questioned whether Iran can actually have a 12 million

man paramilitary since they only trained 2 million for the Iraq/Iran war in the

1980’s and only put 500,000 of those into battle. If Iran does indeed have that

large a paramilitary force then Turkey’s advantage in airpower may be nullified.

Iran also has another weapon, an economic weapon. According to the website Turkey produces about 45,000 barrels of oil per

year but consumes more than 650,000 barrels per year. Ironically, Russia and Iran

are the two largest importers of oil to Turkey. If Iran and Russia were to conspire

together (they do have a close political relationship) and stop oil from flowing to

Turkey that might be the easiest mechanism to invade Turkey. Alternately Iran

could invade without Russia’s help. Turkey has positioned itself as the distributor

of oil and gas from Asia to the rest of the world. According to an article written

by The Washington Institute for Near East Policy, Startup of the Baku-Tbilisi-

Ceyhan Pipeline: Turkey’s Energy Role (May 27,2005) there are several pipelines

for gas and oil that exist or are under consideration to deliver product from the

Caspian Sea, Iraq and Russia to the Mediterranean Sea. All these pipelines

appear to go through Ceyhan, Turkey. If Iran were to capture Ceyhan and

control the pipelines, that may be all that is required to force Turkey into

Iran’s control of Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Iraq could also address their economic

goals. Control of Iraq and Saudi Arabia would obviously increase Iran’s control

of the world oil supply but it would also give them something they desperately

need for Iran, more refinery capacity. Iran ships much of its oil unrefined since it

doesn’t have much refinery capacity. According to (a

website that collects economic statistical information about countries) Saudi

Arabia and United Arab Emirates (a small country located alongside Saudi

Arabia on the Persian Gulf Coast) are ranked #8 and #7 among nations that

produced refined oil. Together they have 20 times more oil refining capacity

than Iran. It makes sense that as Iran invades to the south they would invade

Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates together for their refining capability.

This invasion also helps Iran in controlling distribution of their oil supply. According

to Iran currently has the 18th largest tanker capacity in the

world. When the tankers of Iran, Turkey and Saudi Arabia are combined after

Iran’s invasion, Iran would have the 5th largest tanker capacity of any country.

As I have mentioned already Iran’s control of Turkey would mean they would

also control the oil that comes through the pipelines from the Caspian Sea,

Russia and Iraq and consequently gas or oil going to Europe. Controlling Turkey

means that Iran would also control the Straits of Bosporuss and the Dardanelles

that are the sea lanes into the Black Sea. According to the previously

mentioned Washington Institute article over 5,000 tankers carrying Caspian Sea

oil pass through these Straits every year and the Black Sea is the location of

    Russia’s main shipping port.

    Enter the Goat

“And as I was considering, behold, a he goat came from the

west on the face of the whole earth, and touched not the ground: and the goat

had a notable horn between his eyes.” (Daniel 8:5)

Many theologians believe that Daniel 8:5 describes the military campaign of

Alexander the Great. They argue that Alexander’s invasion covered the face of

the “known” world as the bible viewed it and that the Bible is using the phrase

“touched not the ground” as a poetic reference to the speed of Alexander’s

What is disturbing about this type of interpretation is that is being presented by

people I believe to be men of God who teach that the Bible should be taken

literally, yet they have stretched the interpretation of this verse using symbolism

to “fit” Alexander the Great. I believe if you take the descriptions mentioned in

this verse literally several observations become apparent that make this verse a

description of events in our generation. Let’s start with the phrase that describes

a military force that “touched not the ground”. Wars that have involved battles

in which the combatants did not touch the ground have only occurred since

World War I when biplanes armed with machine guns battled one another in the

sky. Airplanes began to use bombs against land and sea targets in World War II.

Also in World War II battleships became powerful weapons from the sea with

their ability to lob “Volkswagen” sized munitions at their land targets. The

Vietnam War era introduced the capability of the world’s superpowers to launch

munitions halfway around the world using intercontinental ballistic missiles

(ICBMs). If there is a time that nations have become well suited to conducting

war without touching the ground it is during our generation.

The “he goat” which “came from the west on the face of the whole earth” also

refers to events in our generation. Consider the possibility that the “he goat”

represents a leader that is the head of an organization that represents every

nation “on the face of the whole earth”. This interpretation would not contradict

this phrase and it is also descriptive of a scenario that is possible in our lifetime:

the Secretary General of the United Nations could use a multinational force

against Iran and the Kurds. Therefore if the Secretary General is the “he goat” he

must also represent the nation of Greece as stated previously. Therefore this

prophecy can only occur sometime in our future when the Secretary General of

the United Nations is from Greece. Is this a possibility?

The United Nations selected a new Secretary General, Ban Ki-moon (the South

Korean candidate) who began his term in office in January 2007. A great deal

of political arm twisting normally takes place in the process of selecting a

Secretary General and Ban Ki-moon’s appointment was no different. China,

which has the power of veto over any potential nominee, was adamant that the

next candidate come from Asia. The United States, who also has the power of

veto over any potential candidate, held the position that the next candidate

shouldn’t necessarily come from Asia but conceded when China indicated that

the candidate from South Korea, a prominent democracy in the region, was

acceptable to them. This process of deciding who will be the next Secretary

General often is decided based on which region has not had an opportunity to

have a Secretary General in office that is from their region. Therefore we should

be able ascertain which region the next Secretary General will come from based

on the number of Secretary Generals that have been selected from each

region. Three Secretaries General have come from Western Europe, two from

Africa, one from Latin America and including Ban Ki-moon, two from Asia.

Eastern Europe has not had any from their region yet, however the United States

did make some argument for Eastern Europe during Ban Ki-Moon’s selection.

Therefore, if this process is based on fairness, it would appear Eastern Europe

should have a chance at Secretary General next. I think this depends on the

viewpoint of the sitting president of the United States. If that president is more

friendly to the European Union than these former countries of the Soviet Union

(the Eastern European nations) then the selection of the Secretary General from

a European Union member is very possible. Greece just happens to be a

member of the European Union and it is not far removed from the countries of

Eastern Europe. If Greece is selected how soon could this occur? The Secretary

General has a five year term in office but is limited to two terms and with few

exceptions they are reappointed and serve for the full 10 years. However in the

case of Ban Ki Moon prospects for a 10 year appointment doesn’t look so good.

Consider this excerpt from an article from The Korea Times online (In Defense of

Ban Ki-Moon, August 30, 2009): “But now Ban, at the halfway mark of his fiveyear

term, finds the prospect of the second term mysteriously up in the air.”

Therefore it appears that the selection process for a new Secretary General of

the U.N. could start as soon as 2011 and the appointment of a Secretary General

of the U.N. from Greece could happen in the very near future.

    The Notable Horn

“…the goat had a notable horn between his eyes.” (Daniel 8:5)

The first observation one should make when analyzing the notable horn is a result

of the following question: why doesn’t the Bible describe the horn as a “single”

horn rather than a “notable” horn? Again, many theologians have interpreted

the appearance of this he goat to be a unicorn, a goat with one horn. What if

the goat actually has more than 200 horns (which would look more like a

porcupine than a unicorn), which represent the member nations of the United

Nations, and those horns are located all over its body? What if the notable horn

is striking in its appearance, relative to every other horn the he goat has,

because it is a mighty military superpower, the world’s only military superpower?

The word “notable” is not really in context here unless it is describing the

appearance of one unique horn compared to the other horns of the he goat.

Thus the use of the word “notable” in this verse would be completely consistent if

it is referring to a multi-horned goat with one large horn sticking out of its

Note the location of the notable horn. It is located between the eyes of the

goat. Why is this important? I believe that this symbolism indicates that the

notable horn has great influence over the direction of the he goat compared to

the other horns: the notable horn leads the eyes of the goat in the direction he

should look. Is there a country that presently fits this description that is member

of the United Nations better than the United States of America? It is obvious that

the notable horn must be a representation of the United States.

Now, for the sake of clarity, let’s assemble the individual parts of these

observations. The he goat is the United Nations led by a Secretary General who

is from the nation of Greece and the notable horn represents the United States.

The Goat and the Ram Collide

“And he came to the ram that had two horns, which I had seen standing

before the river, and ran unto him in the fury of his power.” (Daniel 8:6)

Since the United States still has a major presence in the Persian Gulf because of

the Iraq and Afghanistan conflicts something must occur for this prophecy to

take place. I don’t think Iran will invade Iraq as long as the United States is

present in the Persian Gulf. I believe there is already movement in this regard

since the United States is scheduled to leave Iraq in 2011 and based on recent

posturing by President Obama could be leaving Afghanistan in the near future

    as well.

According to this verse the he goat confronts the ram at the Ulai (Karun) River

near the Iran/Iraq border. How is this possible since the ram “pushed westward”

and presumably conquered Iraq? Well, note how the ram has been moving so

far: previously the he goat didn’t touch the ground, so he was either flying or

swimming, but in this verse the he goat is running at the ram. I believe this

indicates that the he goat is able to take back control of Iraq from the air and/or

the sea and then the he goat uses Iraq as his staging point to conduct a land

    war against the ram.

    The Ram’s Horns are Broken

“And I saw him come close unto the ram, and he was moved with choler

against him, and smote the ram, and brake his two horns: and there was no

power in the ram to stand before him, but he cast him down to the ground, and

stamped upon him: and there was none that could deliver the ram out of his

hand. Therefore the he goat waxed very great: and when he was strong, the

great horn was broken; and for it came up four notable ones toward the four

    winds of heaven.” (Daniel 8:7-8)

Here the he goat is able to successfully defeat the ram and his two horns, Iran

and Kurdistan, are broken. While they may be broken Iran and Kurdistan still

have important roles in other end time events.

It is interesting to note the emotional state of the goat. He is “moved with

choler”, this phrase is translated filled with bitterness in other parts of the Old

Testament. We have seen in Daniel 8:6 that the goat ran at the ram in the “fury”

of his power, this word “fury” means extreme anger in the original Hebrew

language. The book of Jeremiah has a similar description of Iran, referred to as

Elam, from the very mouth of God (Jeremiah 49:35-39): “Thus saith the Lord of

hosts; Behold, I will break the bow of Elam, the chief of their might. And upon

Elam will I bring the four winds from the four quarters of heaven, and will scatter

them toward all those winds; and there shall be no nation whither the outcasts of

Elam shall not come. For I will cause Elam to be dismayed before their enemies,

and before them that seek their life: and I will bring evil upon them, even my

fierce anger, saith the LORD; and I will send the sword after them, till I have

consumed them: And I will set my throne in Elam, and will destroy from thence

the king and the princes, saith the LORD. But it shall come to pass in the latter

days, that I will bring again the captivity of Elam, saith the LORD.” I believe this

passage in Jeremiah is describing the defeat of the ram by the goat because of

several clues in the passage. The Lord has “fierce anger” towards Elam, just as

the goat charges in his “fury” at the ram. The Lord “brings the four winds from

the four quarters of heaven” against Elam; couldn’t this be a description of the

whole world (through the U.N.) at war with Iran? As you have probably noticed

there are several interesting details that I haven’t discussed here, like the

captivity of Elam. I will discuss those in Chapter 3 when I talk about Daniel

    chapter 11.

The he goat, the Greek Secretary General of the United Nations, will become

very powerful since the United Nations should have control of rebuilding the

entire Persian Gulf and (possibly) the Caspian Sea after taking control of it from

Iran (as I stated earlier this area should represent at least 2/3 of the world

    petroleum supply).

The most disturbing event in these two verses is the breaking of the great horn.

Note the phrase, “when he was strong, the great horn was broken”. This phrase

implies that after this great military victory for the United States, the United States

is somehow “broken”. What is curious about this verse is it doesn’t say how the

great horn is broken. It certainly could be through internal events like an

economic catastrophe or a political struggle or even an unmentioned military

The Four Kings from the Four Directions

When the great horn is broken four notable ones come up in its place in the

direction of the four winds of heaven. What is being described here? I believe

that once the U.S. is removed as the stabilizing influence in the world, the glue

that holds the U.N. together, its demotion from its position as a world superpower

will result in the U.N. breaking up into four “mini United Nations”. These four mini

U.N. organizations will represent a different part of the globe: the Americas and

Europe (east direction), Russia and the Middle East (the north direction), Asia

(west direction) and Africa (the south direction). All these directions are relative

to the nation of Israel since Jerusalem is the center of the world by God’s

perspective. Also there will be a notable “horn”, the most influential nation in

that particular region, that acts as the leader for each of these respective

organizations. It is important to note that one of the purposes of the United

Nations is to protect weaker nations from the aggressor nations. This is only

possible if there is a militarily strong nation that is the leader of the nations that is

willing to conduct “police” actions when necessary, so it is necessary for each of

these organizations to have one nation that is equal in military might to the

strongest nation in the other groups. What is currently interesting is there is a

strong military power in each of the four parts of the globe except for Africa. This

suggests that a strong military nation will rise in Africa to cause the fulfillment of

    this scripture.

Does the Bible give any clues as to the identity of these four horns, these nations

that will lead their respective part of the globe? I believe Daniel chapter 11,

describes some of the actions of the kingdoms of the north and the south. A

descendant of the daughter of the king of the south invades the land of the king

of the north and brings the spoils of war home:

“But out of a branch of her roots shall one stand up in his estate, which shall

come with an army, and shall enter in the fortress of the king of the north, and

shall deal against them, and shall prevail: And shall also carry captives into Egypt

    their gods, with their princes, and with their precious vessels of silver and gold;

and he shall continue more years than the king of the north.” (Daniel 11:7-8)

Therefore, based on this verse the horn from the south is Egypt. In fact Egypt is

mentioned several times relative to the actions of the “king of the south” in

    Daniel chapter 11.

Russia is the nation from the north. This becomes very evident as we look at

Daniel chapter 11 later in this book.

While the Bible is not as clear in its description of the king from the west I believe

the Bible does mention this nation in several scriptures regarding the end times.

Greece is the only country mentioned by name in the Bible that is involved in

end time events that is located west of Israel (Zechariah 9:13):

“When I have bent Judah for me, filled the bow with Ephraim, and raised up thy

sons, O Zion, against thy sons, O Greece, and made thee as the sword of a

    mighty man.”

God strengthens Israel in this verse to defend itself from Greece in the end times.

Based on this information it becomes apparent that when the United Nations

splits into four different world organizations that the former Secretary General of

the United Nation that represents Greece becomes the leader of the

organization that represents the western portion of the globe (the Americas and

The Bible doesn’t give any information as to the identity of the nation that

represents the king of the east although the Old Testament and New Testament

do indicate that the king of east does engage the king of the north at some

    point during the end times:

“But tidings out of the east and out of the north shall trouble him (king of the

north); therefore he shall go forth with great fury to destroy, and utterly to make

    away many.” (Daniel 11:44)

“And the sixth angel poured out his vial upon the great river Euphrates; and the

water thereof dried up, that the way of the kings of the east might be prepared.”

    (Revelations 16:12)

    Kurdistan: The Little Horn

“Out of one of them came forth a little horn, which waxed exceeding great,

toward the south, and toward the east and toward the pleasant land.” (Daniel

As I have mentioned previously I believe that Kurdistan is the little horn, the

country that is home to the Antichrist which brings such devastation to the world

in the end times. Kurdistan will be the last kingdom to rise, the only country which

claims to be the descendant of the Medes (as mentioned above this is the chief

requirement necessary to be the last kingdom to rise). Daniel 8:9 describes a

further requirement of the little horn; it must come from one of the four horns that

arise after the great horn of the he-goat is broken. As we will see later Russia will

fall as the king of the north and the antichrist will arise in Iraq (Babylon) and is the

horn that rises from the north on the he-goat. Note that Daniel 11:23 describes

the antichrist and the fact that he will “become strong with a small people”; this

certainly fits the description of the Kurds.

    Summary of Daniel Chapter 8

The following is a summary of the events that I believe will fulfill the events as

described by the book of Daniel, chapter 8:

1.) “I saw the ram pushing westward, and northward, and southward; so that no

beasts might stand before him, neither was there any that could deliver out of his

hand, but he did according to his will, and became great.” (Verse 4)

The ram represents Iran and Kurdistan (the Kurds in Iraq). Iran and Kurdistan will

conquer Iraq, then the countries around the Caspian Sea and finally the

countries of the Persian Gulf so that Iran and Kurdistan control the world’s oil

2.) “As I was considering, behold, an he goat came from the west on the face

of the whole earth, and touched not the ground and the goat had a notable

    horn between his eyes.”

    (Verse 5)

The goat represents the United Nations when it is lead by a Secretary General

from Greece and the notable horn represents the United States. The United

Nations and the United States come against Iran and Kurdistan and defeat

“Therefore the he goat waxed very great: and when he was strong, the great

horn was broken; and for it came up four notable ones toward the four winds of

    heaven.” (Verse 8)

Shortly after this victory the United States ceases to be a military power (the Bible

doesn’t specify how). The United Nations divides into four smaller multinational

organizations that represent the four directions (north, south, east and west). The

north will be led by Iraq, the south will be led by Egypt and the West will be led

by Greece (the Bible doesn’t specify which country is the lead nation from the

3.) “Out of one of them came forth a little horn, which waxed exceeding great,

toward the south, and toward the east, and toward the pleasant land.”

The little horn, the last kingdom to rise that are the descendants of the Medes, is

the nation of Kurdistan and Kurdistan will arise out of Iraq.
